El calamar alienígena australiano existe realmente

Hace un tiempo se comenzó a hablar del calamar alienígena, un raro ejemplar del que pudimos ver algunas fotografías pero que, sinceramente, la gran mayoría consideraba que se trataba de una noticia falsa. Sin embargo, aunque se trata de un animal desconocido, realmente se encuentra en nuestros océanos, y sus particularidades lo convierten en una noticia que a más de uno pondrán los pelos de punta.

2000 nuevas especies marinas cada año

Antes de comenzar a hablar acerca del calamar alienígena australiano, es importante que tengamos en cuenta que cada año se consiguen descubrir e investigar alrededor de unas 2000 nuevas especies, lo cual nos da a entender la gran dimensión que alcanza el mundo animal y cuánto desconocemos en estos momentos.

Los océanos son precisamente los lugares que guardan más secretos para nosotros, especialmente debido a su poca accesibilidad y al hecho de que presenta variedades sorprendentes, algunas de ellas cuyos orígenes datan de hace decenas de miles de años.

La curiosidad aumenta cuanto más conscientes somos de esta realidad, y nos empuja a descubrir más y más conforme va pasando el tiempo, hasta el punto de conocer algunos animales, especies o variedades particulares como es el caso de este calamar.

De hecho, dentro del grupo de cefalópodos, en total conocemos unas 650 especies de las miles que deben de existir, y una de ellas es el calamar de aletas grandes.

El calamar de aletas grandes, también conocido como calamar alienígena, es una variedad que habita el fondo de las frías aguas del océano en Australia, un ejemplar que forma parte de los magnapinnidae, los cuales muestran una apariencia muy particular e incluso grotesca, creando una asombrosa similitud con el concepto que tenemos en la sociedad actual del físico de un alienígena.

Sus largas patas que pueden llegar a alcanzar hasta 1,83 m y la disposición de las mismas, apoya esta estética sorprendente que podéis observar en las imágenes.

Este calamar se suele encontrar en profundidades que van desde los 200 m hasta los 4000 m, y tienen una buena capacidad de adaptación a los diferentes ecosistemas.

Tiene un color marrón anaranjado que combina con partes translúcidas, mientras que destacan sus ojos oscuros y tentáculos blancos, creando una mayor ilusión como ocurre con gran parte de las capturas que se han realizado.

En las últimas exploraciones se han conseguido localizar numerosos ejemplares de calamar alienígena, lo cual demuestra que no sólo existe, sino que además también presenta algunas particularidades interesantes como el hecho de tener comportamientos diferentes a otros que ya conocemos como el enrollado en espiral de sus patas, o incluso su colocación completamente horizontal cerca del fondo marino, actitudes de las que todavía no se han podido averiguar los motivos, pero que sin duda indican un comportamiento inusual que resulta muy interesante en el ámbito científico, permitiendo de esta forma poder hacer nuevos descubrimientos dentro del ámbito de una familia muy extensa y que sin duda nos va a sorprender mucho en estos años venideros.
